Lozano: "The derby is a special game for everyone"
The midfielder previews the match against FC Barcelona
Espanyol come into the Catalan derby with FC Barcelona confident in their ability to perform. Pol Lozano spoke about the contest to the media, and expressed his belief that last weekend against Real Betis they "recovered the feeling of being a solid team."
The RCD Espanyol midfielder believes that "the derbies in the last two years have been decided by small details. In the first meeting this season, we had very clear chances, but it was our own fault that we didn't get something from the game."
Lozano, who has played in countless derbies both at youth level and with the first team, explained that "it's a special game for everyone. We're coming into it at a time when we have to win. We need the three points. These are difficult matches that have to be played at 120 percent."
He acknowledged that, had they won the January derby, "we would certainly be in a different position than we are now. This Saturday, we have to be clinical in front of goal, but the first thing we have to do is defend and, from the foundation of a clean sheet, start to build on that."
