Lozano: "Getting three points against Betis would give us peace of mind"
The midfielder sets out the team's ambition for Matchday 34
Aiming to rebound after last weekend's defeat away at Villarreal, the RCD Espanyol squad are already working exclusively on the objective of earning three more points on Sunday against Real Betis.
"Getting those points would give us peace of mind," stated Pol Lozano in a press conference on Wednesday.
"If we win, then whilst mathematically we wouldn't be 100 percent certain of our survival, it would be a big help. Our mentality is that the higher we finish in the table, the better."
The midfielder argued that "the sooner we're safe, the better it is for us. We're convinced we have a chance of taking the three points this weekend to put ourselves in a favourable position."
He also acknowledged that, given the team's progress, "we would have liked to be performing like this at the beginning of the season. If we had three more points now, we'd feel even more at ease. We've noticed now that everything we've worked on in training is coming out in games. We've earned points, we've had more possession, and we've managed to keep clean sheets."
