Kike Garcia: "We can't leave anything to chance"
The forward looks at the game against Villarreal CF
Kike García spoke to journalists ahead of Monday's match against Villarreal, and emphasised the mood in the squad despite recent results.
“Throughout a season there are always ups and downs, both in terms of fitness and in terms of our performance. There are also moments in which your luck is better or worse."
"Before, we didn't concede goals, or Dmitrovic was keeping everything out. Now we're conceding and we have to play catch-up in games, or we've suffered from refereeing decisions that have gone against us. But these aren't excuses. We're frustrated by the recent results, and we know that excuses won't cut it. We all have to give much more and take the bull by the horns. We have to pull ourselves out of this rough patch," he stated.
The forward also said that "I alway demand more goals, more accuracy in my finishing, but I know I’m close to scoring, that I'm getting chances."
“We don’t need to say much to the fans because they’re always with us. Now is when we need to be united the most. The results aren’t going our way, but it’s not for lack of trying. We’re going to give it our all, and we have to iron out those little details that are preventing us from getting points. We can’t leave anything to chance. Now is when we have to focus even more on those things that have led us to have 34 points now. There’s no room for doubt. We have to be united and give a little more in every aspect.”
