Jofre: "We’re focused on winning again"
The attacker draws on hard work and resilience for a turnaround in fortunes
Jofre Carreras spoke to the media ahead of this Sunday’s away game against Elche CF, senfing out a clear message.
“The team are working hard for this match, focused on stopping this bad run of results, trying to improve and preparing in the best way we know how," he told journalists on Thursday.
The winger explained that “through hard work, we want to regain the confidence we had in the first half of the season, be strong defensively again and turn things around, even if the results eventually go against us. We prepare every matchday aiming to win. In this second half of the season the results haven’t been going our way as much as before. But we want to win; we’re focused. We’ve done it before and we know we can do it again”.
Looking ahead to the weekend, he noted that “Elche have a very clear playing style, with a lot of personality. We fully believe in the coach’s game plan and in executing it as well as possible.”
Carreras also underlined the importance of the next few games.
“We have a month ahead that will be quite decisive. Everything depends on winning again, on us being strong. These are important games. We’ll set our sights on the first objective and then we'll look beyond that. We’re aware of it and we’re very focused on winning again."
“I’m feeling confident, working really well and am comfortable. I’ll contribute as much as I can, whether I start or come on during the game, and I want to help us get the win this weekend”.
