González: "We stood up to be counted"
The coach reviews the loss to Real Madrid
Manolo González couldn't hide his disappointment with the final result against Real Madrid, but he praised his players' work in the 2-0 defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu.
"We stood up to be counted throughout. The team didn't let up and kept attacking. The first goal was a great one, and the second goal we conceded was avoidable, but to win here you have to play a perfect game. In the second half, we attacked more with our heart than our heads," he commented.
The coach also emphasised that "we know that Real Madrid usually dominate. Today we wanted to prevent their transitions and we managed to do so, although we lacked the final push to turn the game around. But we didn't give up. The team weren’t out of it at any point."
