González: "We have to move on from the Copa del Rey elimination"
The coach talks ahead of the game against Rayo Vallecano
Manolo González wants to put the Copa del Rey elimination from week behind him as quickly as possible, and his side now turn their attentions to a meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
The coach confessed in his press conference that he has spoken with the players, that he is still "very angry," but at the same time "focused" on the LaLiga Matchday 15 fixture.
"After the Copa del Rey game, I wanted to bury myself in a hole, as always happens to me after a defeat. But, as the hours have passed, I'm now upbeat and determined that it's time to move on. There's no other option. We have to get back to competing at the highest level, like big teams do. It's time to get things together and compete at our best."
Regarding Sunday's opponents, he emphasised, first and foremost, that Iñigo Pérez "is one of the best coaches in LaLiga, and you can tell that this is a team that strongly identify with their coach. They have many options. For me, they were champions of their particular 'league' last year. It will be a very demanding match."
"The most important thing in this game is our decision-making. We have to be reliable and not make mistakes. We have to give our all, because as I said, if we don't, we won't beat anyone in the Primera División."
