González: "We aren’t considering the draw a good result"
The coach talks after the draw with Real Sociedad
A 2-2 draw in San Sebastián left RCD Espanyol coach Manolo González not particularly satisfied, as he felt his team had deserved to hold on for victory.
"We had a complete performance at a very difficult ground to visit. We slowed down slightly with the ball, and their reaction came from a bit of misfortune from us. We're feeling disappointed because we had the three points within reach,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“The most positive aspect is the image the team are projecting of ourselves. We played well and we've grown in terms of our play with the ball. Today we had 15 shots on goal, and that was unthinkable not so long ago. We're improving every day. The image the team are giving off is ambitious, and today the dressing room is angry. That says a lot about them in there."
He also emphasised that "After watching the game, we aren’t considering the draw a good result. We have to be able to kill off games. Last year the team were very solid in the second half of the season, and we have to get that back. The second goal is one that the team wouldn't have conceded last year."
