González: "The team won't let up"
The coach speaks before the game against RCD Mallorca
Monday night football is on the way for RCD Espanyol, who play RCD Mallorca to round off Matchday 4 of the LaLiga season.
Coach Manolo González looked ahead to the game in conversation with journalists on Sunday, and emphasised that there was confidence -but not relaxation- surrounding the fixture.
"We're coming into the game with a lot of enthusiasm. We've got a good day-to-day dynamic in the dressing room. We're confident and in a good moment of form. There's excitement and a good vibe," he reiterated when speaking about his team.
“Given the type of players in the current squad, the team won't let up. Everyone is eager to have a good year and not suffer. Both promotion and survival have defined the club in recent years. Now, what we want is for the club to be stable."
González added that the team “are training every day at a very high pace, and that shows in the games."
Asked about the opposition -in particular their star striker-, the coach stated that "Mallorca are much more than just Vedat Muriqi. They're a team capable of playing directly, with a wide range of characteristics, and are a very well-organised side. It will be a very demanding, very tough match, in a difficult timeslot, but we're counting on the support of our fans."
