González: "The team is built on a mentality and a way of playing"
The coach looks forward to the game against Real Oviedo
Manolo González is raring to get back to LaLiga action, and as the competition returns he continues to maintain the same approach the team has taken since Matchday 1.
Although recent results have seen a slight dip in form, the coach wants his side to get the win away to Real Oviedo on Friday night.
“My only concern remains us going out to win and having a good game. The team are doing well, but are saddened by us not winning our latest games. We're creating chances, and we know this is the way forward and that you can only grow this way. The team is built on a mentality and a way of playing, and we will give our all tomorrow and in the games to come."
RCD Espanyol will be missing Javi Puado for the game, but González insists that he has other options available to replace the striker whilst he recovers from injury.
He added that, for him, the great paradox that has emerged in recent weeks is that "despite the fact that Betis and Valencia rarely attacked us, we conceded goals against them. We've also been more present in attack, but the aim is not to concede and to keep a clean sheet."
“Our goal is to earn survival as soon as possible. This isn't about spending money; first, we have to become a stable team in the Primera División."
