González: "The team did everything to win"

The RCD Espanyol coach highlights the efforts in the draw against Real Oviedo

Manolo González spoke to the media after the draw between RCD Espanyol de Barcelona and Real Oviedo at the RCDE Stadium, praising the team’s performance:

“The team did everything to win. We showed a lot of character, especially in the first half. We did everything you have to do to win the match, but we just couldn’t manage it."

The coach explained that “we got into the final third well, making good decisions, but we couldn’t kill the game off. When you don’t, the match always gets more difficult for you. We didn’t take our chances and we didn’t defend well on their goal."

Finally, he stressed that “the team deserved more today. We are getting back to competing at a good level. I’m proud of how we competed today. The win will come, I'm sure."
