González: "The sending off affected the match"
The coach comments on the game against RCD Mallorca
Manolo González spoke to the media after the 2-1 defeat to RCD Mallorca at Son Moix, and commented on the refereeing controversy in the game.
“From a footballing point of view, the team did well. I don’t like bringing these things up to justify a defeat, but it affected the match. In a game we had under control, we ended up losing. The team are still alive, however, and against Getafe we will compete at the highest level again."
In his analysis, the coach stressed that “it’s a match we had under control. In any of our transitions we could have hurt them. From the sending off onwards, the game changed."
"Eleven versus eleven, we did well. We have to keep going and make sure it doesn’t affect us going into the next game."
Regarding the decisions, González stated that “I didn’t want to speak to the referee; I have nothing to talk about with him. Everyone saw the incident, but there were more significant actions during the game. There have been many already. Today it happened for the second year in a row here”.
