González: "Getafe is a very difficult game for us"
The coach states his desire to take another three points on Matchday 15
After three consecutive victories, RCD Espanyol coach Manolo González wants another three points this weekend against Getafe.
“Winning strengthens you and helps you. All teams struggle to win, so I give this game the same importance as the remaining matches until the end of the season,” he said in his pre-match press conference on Friday.
He specifically praised the opposition, saying “They are a great team, with a great coach, who have been doing things well for many years. They defend with a very high line and create scoring opportunities. It's a very difficult game for us."
González emphasized that Espanyol will be facing “a team with a strong identity. They don't depend on one player to dictate their performance. They have a very clear identity, shaped by a coach who drives them to compete at their highest level. It will be “a tough match because Getafe are a good team. They have certain qualities that are only criticised when opposing teams lose to them. We lost against them last year because we were the worse team of the two. They compete at the highest level. Their merits are what they do on the pitch, not off it.”
Finally, regarding Javi Puado's possible return, the coach stated, “We don't know when that will be. Javi will decide when he's fit, when he feels good, but I wouldn't dare to name a date.”
