González: “We have to be mentally strong and turn the situation around”

The coach reacts to the draw with Levante UD

After Espanyol and Levante played out a 0-0 draw, coach Manolo González assessed the contest in his post-match press conference.

“In the first half we were the better side, we pressed well and we were close to their penalty area. In the second half it was harder for us to find our rhythm. And at the end they had two clear chances, also as a result of us being a man down.”

The coach insisted that “we have to keep working and change the dynamic by being mentally strong. The team gave everything we had, but it’s not enough. The first half wasn’t bad. In the final third we've been lacking a bit of sharpness. We have to maintain the right mindset and keep pushing.”
