González: “We’re disappointed with the result”
The coach reacts to the loss to Real Madrid
After RCD Espanyol's 0-2 defeat against Real Madrid, coach Manolo González commented on the game and the adverse result.
“We played better than them in the first half; we had more chances. We even had opportunities in the second half. The goal to make it 0-2 hurt us, but I think if the team had taken the lead, it would have been a very different game.”
The RCD Espanyol coach insisted that “we competed well. But these are matches you have to keep close; if you don't convert your chances, the opposition have players who can decide games.”
“Today we're disappointed, but tomorrow it will be time to train, prepare for the week, and compete when we head to Seville. We'll give it our all. We can't make mistakes now, and we have to take the lead in games. This will be one of the keys in the four remaining matches of the season. We have to pick ourselves up today after the defeat, push ourselves hard, and go to Seville to win."
