Garagaza: "There is a good atmosphere in the first team"
The sporting director talks about the current situation
At the RCD Espanyol stand to celebrate Catalonia's Sant Jordi's Day, Fran Garagarza, the club's sporting director, expressed his satisfaction with the current season and talked about the work being done for the next campaign.
"We are close to achieving the goal of survival and there is a good atmosphere in the first team. We are doing well, but we can't think that everything is already done. This Sunday we have our game in hand against Villarreal and we have to take things one match at a time," he said.
"There's a lot of noise, but nothing is signed," he added, referring to rumours about the upcoming transfer window. He also acknowledged that "planning has been going on for some time, and that it seems obvious to me that Manolo González is happy to work here."
"We have to take a step further," he noted, "to have players that we own outright. We have to think about tomorrow, and we're working towards that goal."
