Expósito: "Once we win one, more will follow"
The midfielder assesses the current dynamic at RCD Espanyol
Edu Expósito talked to the media on Thursday, and commented on the current form of the RCD Espanyol squad.
"It's been many matches without a win. We're in a different dynamic now, and it was a shame not to get the three points last Monday, but we're confident for the next match and we hope to win," he explained.
"We've had some setbacks, but we're getting closer to winning every day, so we have to be strong defensively and keep a clean sheet."
"We need to stay calm and remember that we weren't as amazing as people said before, and we're not terrible now. Once we get our first win, more will follow, but we have to maintain the highest standards."
Focusing on the match against Mallorca, he said “We’re going there with a lot of enthusiasm. It will be a big game. Both teams need the win, and both teams will go out there looking for it.”
He insisted that “right now, we have to win, because that gives you everything. It doesn’t matter if we have a bad game -we have to win. I don’t care how. A victory gives you both three points and confidence.”
Finally, the midfielder underlined that “we have a goal and a dream. The goal is to stay in LaLiga, and the dream is to reach Europe. First, we have to achieve our goal, and then we’ll see how far we can go after that. We have to focus on what’s coming up immediately, and then we’ll have to get excited for the next step and give it our all.”
