El Hilali: "We're enjoying it now"

The defender speaks before the team's latest game

As RCD Espanyol continue to climb further clear of the bottom three in LaLiga, the squad have kept their feet on the ground. The players are focused on their next game, which takes place on Friday night against Getafe CF.

Omar El Hilali talked to the media on Wednesday and acknowledged that they have reached a point where "we see ourselves capable of competing head-to-head with any opponent. We have gone for the win from the very beginning, and that's been reflected on the pitch."

He pointed out that "what really matters is the three points and that we achieve our objective as soon as possible. We've had to work and suffer to get to this stage. I've always seen the team eager to move forward, and now we're reaping the rewards."

El Hilali insisted that they were "mentally suffering from the beginning of the season, whereas now we are enjoying it. That allows us to send a message of confidence about us achieving the goal and enjoying it, alongside a fanbase that has never let us down."
