El Hilali: "We’re coming back feeling good and finding our rhythm"
The defender reflects on the preseason training club
Ahead of the third preseason match of the season, set for Saturday at 10:30am against CE Sabadell, and two further friendlies next week in England against Burnley and Middlesbrough, Espanyol are continuing preparations at home.
Reflecting on the recent training camp in Navata, Omar El Hilali spoke to Espanyol Media on Thursday, and remarked on the heavy workload and great atmosphere amongst the group.
"We’re returning to Barcelona happy with everything we’ve done. We’re coming back feeling good and finding our rhythm; we need to really step it up for the upcoming matches because they’ll be demanding, and we need to win them."
"The next three opponents will really test us, but our focus has to be on getting ready for the LaLiga season. We have to win. That’s the only way we view football. They’ll be competitive matches -the kind we enjoy- and we need to prepare well to win them. That’s the mindset we need to adopt."
A strong turnout is expected once again this Saturday at the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque. As El Hilali points out, "wherever we go, our fans never let us down."
