El Hilali: "The best way to finish the first half of the season would be to win"
The defender talks before the game against Levante UD
RCD Espanyol are fully focused on this Sunday's match against Levante UD, eager to return to winning ways after their disappointing derby defeat last time out.
Omar El Hilali talked to the media on Wednesday to give his assessment on the start to the new year, and to preview the next LaLiga encounter.
"It's a shame about the result against FC Barcelona. We felt very good, and the showing was very positive, but the ball just wouldn't go into the net. You could see that we were a team who were hungry, eager, and went out there to win from the first minute. That's the path we have to follow in the future," he explained.
Looking ahead to the match against Levante, he emphasised that "they will be very tough opponents, but we have no other option than to go there and try to win, no matter what. We have to focus on the day-to-day work that we do, and push for the win, which is our objective."
The full-back reflected that "the first half of the season has been very good, and the best way to finish it would be with a victory. We'll go to Valencia looking for that."
"The fans are always with us. They've never let us down. They are the greatest thing this club have, and we have to thank them for that. The fanbase are our 12th man, and that’s very obvious.”
