El Hilali joins RCD Espanyol 100 club
The defender reaches a milestone for appearances
Last Saturday, Omar El Hilali made his 100th official appearance for RCD Espanyol against Villarreal CF. The right-back, a product of the club's youth system, continues to be an established player with the first team and one of the leading figures of the new generation emerging from the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque.
El Hilali, a full international with the Moroccan national team, made his debut with the RCD Espanyol first team on April 4th, 2021, against Albacete Balompié in a Segunda División match. That season, he began to receive opportunities to participate in preseason training with the first team.
In the 2023/24 season, he cemented his place in the starting XI, playing 41 official games and becoming a key player for the team. Since then, he has maintained consistent high performance and competitiveness, allowing him to reach the milestone of 100 official appearances at just 22 years old.
