The defender wants the victory against Elche CF

“It’s time to roll up our sleeves,” says Omar El Hilali of the task ahead for RCD Espanyol, who have yet to win in 2026.

Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday, the fullback commented that “it’s time to win. There’s no point in dwelling on the last match; we need to focus on the game against Elche now. We’re excited, ambitious, and eager to turn things around."

Regarding the game against Atletico Madrid, in which the players fought valiantly but fell to defeat, he stated that “the team never gave up. We knew the score at halftime was very close, and we had to maintain our defensive solidity, but we conceded a goal right after the restart, and that really affected us.”

For El Hilali, this run of results “is something that we knew could happen, but it can also change at any moment. Let’s hope it happens this week, because we have the ambition and the desire for it to do so.”
