Dimitrovic: "We have to be hard-working, focused and confident"
The goalkeeper speaks in the run-up to the game against Valencia CF
Whilst RCD Espanyol's defeat against Girona was a tough blow for the squad, they are already back focused on the next LaLiga encounter against Valencia CF.
Goalkeeper Marko Dmitrović spoke about the current state of the dressing room on Tuesday, and made it clear that the derby loss doesn't tarnish the team's performance so far this campaign.
"We've been doing things well all season, with very high standards for ourselves. One game won't change our attitude. We're doing well, we're fifth in the table, and this defeat could be useful for us to see that if you're not at 100%, you won't beat anyone."
He underlined that "we have 34 points, and that all of that is thanks to the great work we do every day. We've gone three games without a win, but that doesn't take away from the job we've done so far. You can't always win, but a defeat should serve as an opportunity to analyse every detail."
Dimitrovic insists that “our main objective remains the same. And until we achieve that, we won't think about anything else. We have to keep taking three points at a time. There's no point in thinking about the games in March or April if we don't win now.”
Looking ahead to Saturday's encounter, he emphasises that the team will be “analysing Valencia CF's strengths and weaknesses. We have to be focused, hard-working, and confident. The team will continue to give it our all. If we go out there at 100%, we'll have a great chance of winning in Valencia.”
