Baeza: "The game will be good for us to keep preparing"
The midfielder speaks from the preseason camp
Rafa Bauza scored RCD Espanyol's first goal of preseason this past weekend, and the Mallorcan midfielder says that the squad have been working hard over the past week.
“It's been a bit tough, but it's going well for us to get a feel for things," he commented on Monday.
"My first goal with the first team was a great thrill because, in a way, it confirmed the good level I'd reached after returning from my loan spell.”
Looking ahead to the imminent second friendly this Tuesday at the Estadi Municipal de Peralada against French side Pau FC, he noted that “we are ready. The match in Olot helped us get into a rhythm and, tactically, practice some of the things we're working on in training. I don't think it will be an easy game, but it will be good for us to continue preparing.”
Finally, regarding the support received from the enthusiastic fanbase, he said that “I’m sure people will come to see us tomorrow, because the Espanyol fans are wonderful and follow us wherever we go. We are very grateful for them.”
