50 and 75-year members given tribute at RCDE Stadium
The longlasting loyalty of some of the most dedicated members is recognised
On Thursday, RCD Espanyol de Barcelona held an official ceremony at the RCDE Stadium’s Sala President Ángel Rodríguez to recognise members marking 50 and 75 years of loyalty to the club.
The event commemorated the years 1950 and 1975—the latter being the club's 75th anniversary season and the year those honoured for their 50-year tenure first became affiliated with RCD Espanyol. That season saw Los Pericos finish fourth in LaLiga and secure a spot in European competition. Key figures from that era -Rafa Marañón, Dani Solsona, Raúl Longhi, and Toni Blanch- shared memories and anecdotes with attendees about a very special period in the club's history.
Francisco Perelló Molné was awarded a diploma and the gold and diamond badge for his 75 years as an Espanyol member. Perelló travelled specifically from Málaga to attend the ceremony and uphold a family legacy deeply intertwined with the club: his father served as president, his brother held the position of vice-president, and his grandfather was the treasurer.
RCD Espanyol de Barcelona President Alan Pace wished to acknowledge the long-standing commitment of all the honoured members -and recognised Francisco Perelló’s in particular by inviting him to the VIP box at the upcoming match against Atletico Madrid at the RCDE Stadium.
The President also oversaw the closing act of the ceremony, which included the participation of Vice President Mao Ye and board members Stuart Hunt and Rafa Marañón in the presentation of awards.
The honoured members received their respective badges and commemorative diplomas before the event concluded with a group photo.
