3-1 friendly win over Pau FC
RCD Espanyol play an unofficial fixture during the break in league action
RCD Espanyol kept sharp during the international break with a win over Pau FC, joint leaders of the French Second Division, held at the Ciudad Deportiva Dani Jarque.
Los Pericos took an early lead, thanks to an own goal following a rebound off Bobichon.
Roberto Fernández and Tyrhys Dolan both had chances, with the latter hitting the post, before the half-hour mark. Dolan went on to score the second goal of the game, following up after Roberto hit the crossbar.
RCD Espanyol dominated the game efficiently, with the only negative note being Roca's substitution due to a knock picked up early on.
After the break, changes by both sides created a more open game. Pau began to create more danger, and Fortuño had to make some impressive saves as a result.
The French team reduced the deficit with a penalty, making it 2-1, in the 51st minute.
Immediately after, new chances arose for the visitors, which Fortuño thwarted, before Kike García, in the 59th minute, took advantage of a hesitation by the opposition goalkeeper to beat him as he came out from his area.
A 3-1 win continued the good form with which RCD Espanyol have started the LaLiga season, and helps get them ready for their next game of the campaign.
