|Our captain receives his highly deserved tribute|
|RCDE Stadium experienced one of its most moving days in its short history. This Monday took place the tribute to our Captain Dani Jarque who was gone on 2009 August 8th and who is at all times remembered by the “espanyolismo” as well as football world in general.It was a very moving evening, memories in which minute 21 was for ever the match throughout.Images have spoken for themselves where words were not enough to reflect what actually happened what the attendants went through. Nearly some 19,000 people, were gathered in Cornellà-Prattolive such an unforgettable evening.|
“Espanyolismo” and world of football wanted to remember Jarque. For that purpose, several acts were organized before, during and after the match. Before the match Sergio García was awarded with “Dani Jarque” trophy organized by Catalunya Radio. Captains of all junior masculine and feminine teams jumped on the pitch carrying a big flag showing Jarque’s image. Dani Jarque’s father and his own daughter, little Martina performed the honour kick off and a standing ovation touched everyone's heart. One of the most moving moments was when a video clip showed in the two big video screens Jarque’s career in our Club. RCDE Stadium, in minute 21st, remembered Jarque as never before.In that moment, the match was stopped and some bunches of flowers were handed over to Jarque’s mother, fiancéeJéssica and little Martina.
The event finished with the thrilling performance of Puccini’s Turandot Nessun Dorma aria by excellent young soprano Sislena Caparrosa who managed to move each and every one’s heart. The young Canary Islands born soprano put an end to a wonderful evening.
Nobody forgets our captain in spite the lapse of time since he passed away. DaniJarque has left an unforgettable memory and he is a blueprint for all the “espanyolismo”. 2013, June 3rd has been a day of great memories, very moving and deep feelings. Dani Jarque, we do not forget you, we will for ever remember you.
